Our space is adaptable and able to accommodate different styles of events from exclusive parties, wine and scotch tastings, and business sessions, to formal dinners, wedding receptions, and private concerts.
Private Dining Room
Our Private Dining Room is situated in a parlor built in 1760 with beautiful stone walls that have hosted historical British Royal Navy figures like Admirals Cook and Nelson, as well as British General Wolfe. This intimate room has the capability of hosting up to 16 guests for a sit-down dinner or presentation and 30 guests for a cocktail reception.
Amenities
Amenities include: a brand-new design with Wi-Fi, LCD flat screen, beautiful bar, and wheelchair accessibility. Talented Chef Mathias Probst will create a special menu to suit just about any budget or style. Our sound system is state of the art and we are well established as a wonderful venue to host live entertainment. The Carleton has earned numerous awards and accolades for its live entertainment experience, including five East Coast Music Awards and nine Music Nova Scotia Awards for Venue of the Year, and the two Canada Live Music Awards for Best Small Venue.
Group too big for our private room?
Our main restaurant and bar can easily accommodate up to 80 guests for dinners or receptions in various formats or more for an exclusive concert.
Weddings
The Carleton is not your traditional Halifax wedding venue! Housed in Halifax’s oldest stone building, our space offers an urban yet historic setting for your special occasion. We can accommodate any audio or visual requirements and we have expert staff to help execute your event flawlessly.
Receptions and ceremonies have both been held at The Carleton and we work diligently with you or your planner to turn our space into the perfect space.
