Cape Breton born and Halifax-based Wayne Bedecki returns with his band to The Carleton – along with openers Doublespeak – on Friday, February 23rd. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $20 + HST.
Wayne Bedecki is an emerging artist from Cape Breton Island who has been paving his way to become a rising star on the East Coast Music Scene. The singer, songwriter now resides in Halifax and found success by catching fans attention from his live performance. An outstanding writer, Wayne earned the attention of established musicians with his authenticity and drive. Wayne has written songs with Yvette Lorraine, Dave Sampson, Carlton Stone, Mike McKenna Jr., Jordan Musycsyn, Brain Cathcart (Pretty Archie), and Colette Deveaux.
Wayne’s current project, Running So Long, is a collection of edgy alternative folk and americana songs that forces the audience to feel each lyric. Wayne’s debut, full length album was released October 21, 2022 and has been nominated for “Americana Recording of The Year” by Music Nova Scotia. Wayne co produced the album alongside Mark Bachinsky at Nightowl Production, recorded by honorary producer Chris O’Keefe at The Outpost and sound engineer Travis Morrison at Broken Clock Recording Studio. It features a performance by Ashley MacIsaac on the track “New York City Skyline”, along with an all-star lineup of east coast musicians including Yvette Lorraine, Nicole Ariana, Jacque Mindreau, Ciaran MacGilvary of The Cottars, Ryan McNeil and Colin Gillis of Pretty Archie, Gina Burgess of The Jerry Cans, and Mark Bachinsky of Black Rook and Classified.
“Abigail” the second single from the album, an uplifting narrative that creates the ideal vibe while throwing on your head phones and going for a stroll reached #6 on the CIOE East Coast Top 30. “Take Me Home”, Wayne’s debut single also hit the charts climbing to #13.
