Sanctified Brothers – Michael Smith, Dana Willis and Wallace Smith Jr. – bring some gospel-music-with-a-twist spirit to The Carleton on Saturday, March 1st. Show time is a little earlier than usual for a Saturday night – 7:30 PM – and tickets are $30 + HST advanced or $35 + HST at the door.
From North Preston, Nova Scotia, The Sanctified Brothers (formerly known as the Deep River Boys) have established themselves as one of Canada’s premier gospel groups. Known for their dynamic performances, they have shared the stage with iconic acts such as The Gospel Heirs, the Hallelujah Praise Choir, and the late Rita MacNeil.
This talented group breathes new life into gospel music, blending traditional hymns with elements of blues, funk, and rock. The result is a vibrant, unique sound that captivates and inspires audiences across Canada.
As Wallace Smith Sr. once said, “It’s gospel music, but not your traditional gospel music. We always aim to add variety and keep things exciting—there’s never a dull moment.”
In 2024, The Sanctified Brothers were honoured with the prestigious Rev. Wallace Smith Sr. Award of Excellence at Crescendo Fest, a recognition of their profound impact on gospel music and their enduring contributions to their community.
