Join us on Sunday, April 28th at 1:00 PM as folk string-quartet The Fretless take The Carleton stage for the first time ever!  With one Juno award, two more Juno nominations, and six total CFMA and WCMA awards, this group has been at the forefront of Canada’s acoustic music scene for over a decade, and their new partnership with Madeleine Roger has quickly broadened their appeal to a whole new audience.  The Fretless have built their reputation as a show-stopping and dynamic instrumental act, blending Celtic, folk and roots influences and expanding the notion of what a string-quartet can be.  Tickets are $30 + HST, available NOW!  Doors open at 12 noon for brunch and beverages with service continuing throughout the show.

Within what appears to be a simple construct — two fiddles, a viola, and a cello — The Fretless has created a sound that is distinctly rich, multi-layered, and uniquely percussive. This tonal quality is pushing traditional music to new heights, producing a completely fresh approach to Folk music.
