Sydney-based Steve Luxton makes his début at The Carleton along with local pals Foggy Road on Thursday, June 1st. Show time is 7:30 PM and tickets are $15 + HST. This’ll be a fun night out folks!
Blurring the lines between alternative rock and roll and renegade folk, Steve Luxton captures moments in time and frames them in captivating melodies and haunting harmonic changes. Poetic lyrics, silky-smooth acoustic guitars, and overdriven electric guitar riffs are at the core of this modern alternative folk project. Steve draws his sound from classic lyrical greats like Willie Nelson, the neo-modern country sounds presented by artists such as Sturgill Simpson, and the soulful energy & grooves of artists like Bahamas. Steve’s unique sound and high energy performances are quickly winning over audience members across the East Coast of Canada at festivals like Big Pond Traditional and Folk Music Festival and Blueberry Jam.
Foggy Road are back on the scene after a bit of a rest through the past couple of years. With the addition of Joe Moran on guitar and vocals, and Leo Cox locking things down on bass, they’re bringing some new tunes to the table, along with the familiar covers and originals that’ll have you glued to the dance floor!
