Originally from Athens, Georgia, R.E.M.’s debut album Murmur was hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine as the #1 album of 1983 (#2 was Michael Jackson’s Thriller). They would go on to achieve worldwide fame with their iconic albums Out of Time and Automatic for the People. The Carleton is pleased to present Shiny Happy People, an authentic tribute to R.E.M. that will please both diehard fans and those who only know the hits!
