Robert Thomas has written songs for everyone from Kenny Rogers and Joe Cocker to the Dixie Chicks. For the first time in a decade, Thomas will bring his locked-in-the-pocket Roots/Americana band the session men to Halifax for one night only on Thursday, April 28th at The Carleton. Show time is 7:30 PM and tickets are $25 + HST.

Robert Thomas‘ songwriting uniquely blends a wide palette of styles and influences, that range from Lyle Lovett, John Prine, Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Townes van Zandt to Harry Chapin and Steve Earle.
Over a 30-year career as a performing songwriter, Thomas has recorded or appeared internationally with many of Canada’s most beloved A-list artists including, Barney Bentall, The Legendary Hearts, Spirit of the West, Garnet Rogers, Susan Aglukark, Roche Voisine, Ryan’s Fancy, Hagood Hardy and Lina Boudreau.
The session men feature Nashville stalwart and co-writer Ray Legere (credits – Allison Kraus, Tony Rice, Doc Watson, Rita Macneil, and Michelle Shocked) on Mandolin and Fiddle, Jon Arsenault (credits – Spoiled Rotten, Thom Swift, Charlie A’Court and Zack Lane) on Guitar and backing vocals and Maxime Forbes (credits – Jacques Comeau, Zack Lane, Spoiled Rotten and Mojo) on Keyboards and backing vocals.
