We’ve got a PEI thing going on at The Carleton on Thursday, December 3rd as Charlottetown’s excellent Racoon Bandit and Summerside’s Dylan Menzie take over the stage. Show time is 9 PM and admission is only $8 at the door.
Comprised of Fraser McCallum, Roger Carter, and brothers Scott and Adam Gallant, Racoon Bandit have a knack for writing great folk-rock arrangements with an anthemic punch. Equal parts roots, pysch-rock, and indie, the Bandits turned heads across the country with 2011’s Into the Hills, and have two other independent releases to their name.
Like cultural touch-points Sloan, all four members write and contribute lead vocals as well as coming together for the band’s signature harmonies. The new album, Close Your Eyes, is out now and garnering the usual rave reviews.
Dylan Menzie was last at our joint during HUFF, opening for the Adam Baldwin Band and is one of the brightest young songwriters in Atlantic Canada.
