We all know that Newfoundland produces some of the best songwriters in the country so why not a night that features a bunch of them – Chris Ledrew, Cory Tetford, Paul Lamb and Barry Canning – on the same stage on the same night? Apparently a lot of people agree because Wednesday’s show is sold out so we’re adding a second one at The Carleton on Tuesday, June 27th! Show time is 8 PM and admission is $20 at the door.
These four Newfoundland singer-songwriters have been close friends for upwards of 25 years. All are award-winning recording artists with long resumes of tours, media and radio hits in their wake. All have supported one another on their parallel musical journeys. However, they rarely get a chance to perform together in the same room on a show dedicated to showcasing their songwriting talents. Barry Canning, Cory Tetford, Chris LeDrew and Paul Lamb have a deep knowledge of each other’s material, which makes the musical potential on such a song circle very exciting. The goal with this special event at The Carleton on June 28th is to make it a spontaneous collaboration of harmonies, solos, accompaniment and general camaraderie that reflects a long-standing friendship and admiration of each other’s
music.

Although they live in different parts of the country these days, all jumped at the opportunity to convene in Halifax for what is bound to be a great night of story and song that could possibly be a prelude to further collaboration down the road.
