Locals Linda McLean & The Awakening return to the Carleton on Friday, December 13th, 2024. Following two February debut shows (back to back Sold Out), the multi-talented Linda and her band will hit the stage at 8:00 PM and tickets are only $25 + HST.
The band’s celebrating the summer recording of a full-length album— a fabulous weekend spent at the Manse Studio in Avondale, NS, where they tracked ten songs live off the floor, and captured the band’s authentic sound. Energized and excited by a year of east coast shows and building their fan base, the band is looking forward to share new songs and favourites in December at the Carleton.
Linda McLean has been ranked among the best of her North American contemporaries; “a singer/ songwriter in the great tradition of fellow Canadian Joni Mitchell’s ’70’s work”;“country-tinged beauty with reference points stretching from Lucinda Williams to KD Lang.” with, “material straddling the line between roots stylings and an adult contemporary-tinged sound à la Jann Arden or Sarah McLachlan.” Her new music continues to showcase finely crafted lyrics with instantly memorable melodies. Now performing with her new band, The Awakening, Linda captivates audiences with her signature vintage mix of Americana, roots, folk, and alt-country rock, all driven by her gorgeous vocals.
