Returning home for the holiday season, now-West-Coast-based Jon Bryant finds time to squeeze in his annual show at The Carleton on Tuesday, December 10th. Show time is a friendly 7 PM and tickets are $35 + HST.

Life invariably changes over the course of ten years. However, love endures throughout any decade’s ebbs and flows. Jon Bryant finds himself at a full circle juncture both creatively and personally on his 2020 EP, Half Bad (Nettwerk). Not only does the Vancouver-based alt singer and songwriter pick up the threads of formative influences such as R&B and folk, but he also reaches a new level of understanding and empathy evidenced in the songwriting.

This decade would be nothing short of unbelievable for him. In between countless shows, he delivered four full-length albums, including Cult Classic in 2019. The latter refined his signature style as it detailed his brief experience and exit from NVXIM, which led to appearances on the podcast A Little Bit Culty, Stuff They Don’t Want You To Know and Q: The Podcast From CBC RadioOne syndicated via NPR. Throughout 2019, Jon immersed himself in crafting multiple EP’s  including Half Bad and Psychidellic Salutations and many singles. For those projects, he embraced a longstanding passion for R&B a la D’Angelo and nodded to inspirations as diverse as Kendrick Lamar, and Van Morrison.

Jon Bryant is an alt singer/songwriter whose music has been described as angelic folk and dreamy pop. Jon is signed to Nettwerk Music group on both the publishing and label side. His music has amassed over 125,000,000 steams worldwide and he has toured extensively throughout Canada, the USA and Europe over the past decade.
