Jon Bryant returns to Halifax and The Carleton on Wednesday, June 22nd. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $12.50 advanced or $15 at the door. Up-and-comer Laurenn Marchand will be opening the show!
In 2016 Jon Bryant released his highly anticipated dream-folk album Twenty Something which features the production of Alex Newport (Bloc Party, Death Cab for Cutie, Mars Volta and City and Colour), Nygel Asselin (Half Moon Run) Jordan Wiberg and Rick Parker (Lord Huron, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club). Not only does his unique Jeff Buckley-esque vocals and compelling songwriting command attention, but his lively, emotional and energetic stage presence also pull his audience in and make his art and presence unforgettable.
“Hands down, the best show I’ve ever been to was last winter in the tiny, sold-out basement of the Folk Exchange seeing Bryant” – Teghan Beaudette – CBC
Close your eyes and imagine being wrapped in the comfort of Feist and Joni Mitchell. LAURENN MARCHAND is an Indie/Folk singer-songwriter that will make those feelings come to life and bring warmth to your soul. It’s no wonder this modern-day songstress from Cape Breton has found herself gaining popularity by finishing in the Top 10 of the Much Music/Coca-Cola Covers Contest and has earned showcasing spots across Canada.
Her debut EP, Ghosts in the Garden (December 2015), offers an Indie/Folk approach to storytelling. Recorded in the picturesque Gaspereau Valley, producer Mark Adam captured the life and honest energy of MARCHAND.
