Originally hailing from Ottawa, Vanessa has called Halifax home for the past 8 years and graduated from the Fountain School of Performing Arts in 2020 with am honours degree in Theatre Arts (Acting). If you don’t catch her on stage, hopefully you won’t run into her on the ambulance working as a paramedic for EHS. Currently she is workshopping a new play. “Jonas Street” in Saint John New Brunswick, written by James McClure and directed by Anne-Marie Donovan. She is also developing her own play with creative partner Danielle Toner, “Falling Awake”. As a newcomer to the stand-up world, she would like to thank everyone for being so welcoming and wonderful!
Emma Mader is a lesbian comic located in Halifax who has performed all across the maritimes. She has performed at the Evolve Festival, and opened for comics such as Nikki Payne, Chris Locke, and Nathan Macintosh. Her jokes are a little dark, and very gay.
Originally from the west coast, Ian Black went against the traffic and moved east to Halifax, where he fell in with the wrong crowd and was pressured into trying standup. Since then, he has been voted Halifax’s Funniest, reached the semi-finals in SiriusXM’s nation-wide Top Comic competition, appeared twice at CBCTV’s Halifax Comedy Fest, and broadcast on CBC radio’s LOL. From theatres and clubs to retirement home dining rooms and boardwalk bandshells, Ian is a favourite across the Maritimes and has opened for such varied acts as Bob Saget, Tig Notaro, and Doug Stanhope.
Originally from Nepal, Prajina Maskey moved to Canada ten years ago. As an outsider, she brings a fresh perspective on Maritimes lifestyle to the stage. In her comedy, Prajina gives her unique take on cultural differences. People love her observational, self-deprecating and dry sense of humor.
Joseph Harfouche is a stand up comic based out of Halifax NS. He has traveled North America bring smiles to people’s face and laughs from their belly. You can find him most nights with a microphone in his hand, slinging jokes to all the folks.
