Every once in a long while, we run across a new-to-us artist that simply demands stage time at The Carleton and Joe H Henry is certainly one of those. After blowing away the audience during Mike Campbell’s birthday party last month, we’ve booked him to entertain all who show up on Thursday, February 9th, and in the spirit of making this easy to say “yes” to, it’ll be FREE. Live music will get underway at 7 PM. Trust us, you’ll be happy you did.
THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF AN ORDINARY JOE
If I’ve Been Everywhere hadn’t been sung by Hank Snow, chances are Joe H Henry would have discovered it anyway – or written it!
Born in Canada’s West to an itinerant balladeer and a travelling mother, Joe got moving pretty early himself – at age 13 – on board a boxcar with a guitar on his back. Years and adventures, songs and a bride and now five children led ultimately to their discovery of Nova Scotia where they’ve settled in on top of Annapolis Valley’s North Mountain. The songs Joe wrote and the music he heard in his life on the roads and the rails have made their way into a show that are his story.
Come early for dinner and/or a drink. Reservations recommended: reservations@thecarleton.ca
