Montreal‘s Ian Kelly, along with locals Carmel Mikol and Morgan MacDonald get together for a show at The Carleton on Tuesday, April 21st. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are only $10.
Ian rode his DIY approach – making albums all by himself – to gold record status (and that’s no mean feat in this country at this stage of the music game). A bona fide star in his native Montreal, he’s making his first Carleton appearance and he’s someone we hope will be back again and again. A tremendous talent and we know our Carleton patrons will love. His latest, All These Lines (like all of his recorded output) is well worth your time.
Carmel is a curious traveler and a hard-working songwriting musician. A multiple ECMA nominee, her latest, Creature, is the work of a songwriter at home with the idea that her “home” is actually on the road. She’s a troubadour in the classic sense.
Morgan MacDonald’s latest is called, Back To The Wilderness and he’s recently been working with folks like Broken Social Scene’s Jason Collett and Rheostatic’s Don Kerr. Not bad company. We expect you’ll be hearing more about him.
