Ian Janes is stoked to be wrapping up an East Coast run of dates with a special full band show at The Carleton on Sunday, September 15th. The lineup will merge some killer players that Ian has been working with in Toronto with some of the hottest players from the Atlantic Canada. He’ll start the night with a shorter solo set, taking audience requests as usual, then hit it with the band. There’ll be tons of spirited ensemble playing, fiery soloists and soulful vocals! Show time is 7 PM and tickets are only $30 + HST.
While he’ll be playing some stuff from his latest album – WeakNights – this will be very much a greatest hits show. Stay tuned to Ian’s socials for more info about the players and songs!
Since he began making records in 1998, Ian Janes has always had his own clear voice as an artist. With 6 East Coast Music Award nominations, 5 Music Nova Scotia Award nominations, plus an ‘album of the year’ win, and being named ‘1 of 100 Canadians To Watch’ by MacLeans magazine, Ian’s output has been well recognized. A deeply creative person across multiple disciplines (he’s also a carpenter/cabinet maker), his life has been devoted to making things…songs, homes, kitchens, records, live performances, furniture… and everything that he makes is crafted with painstaking attention to the small details that discern good from great.
WeakNights is a cross section of everything Ian is about as an artist/producer: expertly crafted songs supported by infectious grooves, airtight arrangements and flawless musicianship. Hooks that are simultaneously fun and smart; complex but clear.
