Because we like to make cool things happen at The Carleton (especially in these uncertain times), we’re doing two very special nights with with one of our favourite acts – Hillsburn – on Monday, November 28th AND Tuesday, November 29th. The band will be recording AND videotaping the shows as they work feverishly on their follow-up to the amazing In The Battle Years album. We’d all like to have an enthusiastic audience for these shows so we’re keeping admission to an insanely low $10 at the door each night. Show time will be 8 PM. Monday‘s show will see Devarrow opening and Tuesday‘s opener will be Arsoniste.
The Carleton has a special relationship with Hillsburn. They first played the club in May of 2015 (and sold it out), then as the opening night’s headliner for the Halifax Urban Folk Festival August 2015 (and sold it out) and most recently in August of this year (sold out again)… That’s a pretty good track record in anybody’s books. So, since our club’s uncertain future has us thinking we need to make some statements while we’re around, we’ve decided to make a big deal out of documenting the band’s progress with the presentation of these two special nights while we still can.
We sincerely hope you can join us for one, or both, of these nights. We feel like there will be magic in the air…
