The Summer Rabbit are a Nova Scotia based band described as, “A clean mix of Bob Dylan, The Band & The Beatles“. Formed in early 2014, their music runs the gamut of melodic, hook-laden pop and pure rock and roll with hints of blues, country and soul music influenced by sounds from the 1960s and 1970s. The band is Blair Lucas (rhythm guitar, vocals, bass and keyboards), Dan Taylor (bass, guitar and vocals) and Brett Chivari (drums and percussion).
After leaving their hometown of Sydney to relocate in Halifax, they began working on material that would eventually be on their self titled debut, which was released on October 1st, 2016. The album was extremely well received, including a positive review in New Brunswick arts and culture magazine The East. The album’s 2nd single, “Jimmy’s A Lady Now” was also included in The East’s Best of 2016 year end list. Equally well received are The Summer Rabbit’s live shows which have been described as “fun, energetic, with a good dose of humour and a smart mix of originals and covers“.
Their latest single, “Gottingen Street, 1979” was released in late 2018.
The New Millennials, from Halifax, NS, are an alternative rock band that will, “rock the avocado off your toast.” Formed by Riley Murphy (Vocals/Guitar) and Bryce Bacon (Drums), accompanied by Elecktra Dawn (Vocals/Keys). From upbeat, in your face melodies to get-you-out-of-your- seat, to soft sad songs of personal reflection, The New Millennials are a roller coaster of musical enjoyment.
