You know we love the comedy and will try to bring as much of the funny to you as we can. So, it’s with a great deal of glee that we announce Ali Hassan‘s Muslim Interrupted show at The Carleton on Tuesday, October 24th. Show time will be 7:30 PM and tickets are $20.
Ali Hassan is a Stand-Up Comic, Actor and Chef who has performed on stages across Canada, in the U.S. and twice in the Middle East at the Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival. In 2012, Ali was invited to perform at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and Toronto’s JFL42. In 2014, Ali performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival – a set that aired on CBC Television. He has also been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for ‘Best Breakout Artist’, and was awarded ‘Comedian of The Year‘ by Anokhi Media in 2015. In the summer of 2016, Ali took his new solo show Muslim, Interrupted to Scotland, to perform at the world’s largest comedy festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Ali is the host of LAUGH OUT LOUD on CBC Radio & SiriusXM, a show with a base of over a million listeners. He was also the Lead Comedy Panelist on CBC Television’s George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, recording over 160 episodes between 2012 and 2014.
He is known for his improvisational abilities with audiences as well as for his charm and wit. His comedy routines tackle everything from food to culture to his introduction to parenthood – which is encapsulated in his One Man Show called FROM ZERO TO HERO, a comedic journey of a single man becoming a father of 3 children in under two years.
Ali has also graced the BIG screen in 3 award-winning films: Breakaway, French Immersion and as the memorable Lebanese “Uncle Stevie” opposite Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel and Eugene Levy in the hockey hit GOON!
