Time to get the first comedy show of 2020 out of the gate and we’re pleased to announce that This Hour Has 22 Minutes‘ writer and correspondent Pardis Parker, along with OG cast member Cathy Jones (and likely some friends) will take to The Carleton stage on Friday, January 17th. Show time is 7 PM and tickets are only $12.50!
Cathy Jones has won 18 Gemini Awards and three Canadian comedy awards for Best Writing in a Comedy Series for her work on 22 Minutes and CODCO.
She has toured extensively with her one-woman shows Wedding in Texas and Me, Dad and The Hundred Boyfriends. Her film career includes the lead role in her brother Mike Jones’ film Secret Nation, which aired on CBC Television, and a supporting role in Bruce MacDonald’s Weirdos. A CBC Life and Times biopic titled Keeping up with Cathy Jones was produced in 2006 and featured several of her co-stars from both CODCO and This Hour Has 22 Minutes including Greg Thomey, Rick Mercer, Greg Malone and Andy Jones. She is currently still a cast member on 22 Minutes.
Pardis Parker is the creator and star of Comedy Central’s Mideast Minute in the US, and a correspondent and writer for CBC’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes in Canada.
As a writer/director his work has earned distinctions from the likes of Disney-ABC, NBCUniversal, the Toronto International Film Festival, Athens International Film Festival, Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canadian Comedy Awards, and National Screen Institute of Canada.
As a comedian he’s performed at comedy clubs across Canada, the United States, and England.
And as an actor he’s appeared on shows for ABC, CBS, CBC, Showcase, Family Channel, Comedy Central, and others.
And he likes blueberries.
Not eating them, but just, you know, as a concept.
