We are very pleased to welcome Coco Love Alcorn back to The Carleton for a show on Monday, May 25th. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $15.
Coco Love Alcorn has always followed her spirit, but never so literally as with her current project, The Spirit Sessions. The songs spring from her personal journey, but true to her generous nature, Coco offers a universal interpretation of the spirit that invites all listeners to jump in and sing along. Combine that with her “leap and
the net will appear” performance style that comes from a lifetime of improvisation, and you have a powerful and passionate new offering.
Coco has appeared on the stages of over twenty-five prominent festivals, including Home County Fair, the Vancouver Folk Festival, Stan Rogers, Mariposa, the Stardust Picnic and the Halifax Jazz Festival to name a few, headlined many of Canada’s notable music venues, and has opened for respected artists from Burton Cummings
to Ani DiFranco to Chantal Kreviazuk. Her music has also been placed on hit shows like The L Word and Felicity, and her previous solo projects have resulted in East Coast Music Association, West Coast Music Association, and Music Nova Scotia Award nominations. But this latest project really resonates with her musical core – The Spirit Sessions is perhaps the most authentic expression of Coco’s uncanny gift for connecting with her listening audience.
Renowned Canadian singer/songwriter (and Summerfolk ArtisticDirector) James Keelaghan sums up her powerful presence by saying, “Coco is the ultimate musical spark plug. In my 30 years of touring around the world, I have never seen another performer able to bring people together like Coco does”.
Echo Weekly once declared “Coco has the voice, the look and most importantly the presence of a true Canadian star”, and The Spirit Sessions should by all rights help her to deliver on that promise.
