In the year that would have been Édith Piaf‘s 100th, Ariana Nasr brings her Chante Piaf show to The Carleton on Sunday, June 28th. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $15.
Ariana is a singer, multi- instrumentalist and recovering anglophone of Afghan/ Canadian decent. She grew up in Wolfville Nova Scotia where she now lives with her husband Andy Flinn.
Just in time for the 100th year anniversary of the birth of Édith PIAF, Ariana has developed a 2 set live performance including 18 songs from the repetoire of PIAF, one of France’s best loved performers. The songs are all sung en français and the show includes song synopsis and background info in English. She is accompanied by her long- time collaborator, the inimitable Andy Flinn.

A CD containing 11 songs from the show will be released on April 24th and 25th at the Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and will be followed up by a number of other shows in Eastern Canada, including the Halifax Jazz Festival.
Ariana is enjoying the opportunity to perform solely as a singer, unfettered by physical instruments. The drama, the vocal- centric nature of the material and the language are an exciting opportunity for musical adventure.
