Andre Pettipas & The Giants, with support from PEI’s Brad Milligan and Halifax’s June Body, celebrate the release of their Under Control album at The Carleton on Friday, July 21st. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $20 + HST.

With their take no prisoners live performances, stellar musicianship, and habit of finding grist for the songwriting mill in everything from southern rock to prog and pop. Andre Pettipas and The Giants are a rarity – an act who absolutely refuse to let anything take the fun out of their creative process  performances on record or on stage, and with absolutely no fear of stopping outside the box to get their message across.

2022 was a big year for Brad Milligan, being awarded a Music PEI Award for the EP “Lovesick & Broke”, performing various ECMA showcases, Sound of Music Fest in Ontario, and opening for Our Lady Peace at Rock the Boat Music Fest in Tyne Valley, PE. He is eager to expand on these successes into 2023, and is off to a roaring start after recently opening for Brett Kissel at Charlottetown’s Eastlink Centre, and the Trews at the King’s Playhouse. His much anticipated debut EP is expected to drop in June 2023.

June Body‘s brand new full-length record, Never Here for Long, aims to marry the differing approaches of their last two outings. It preserves the DIY methodology and rawness of their debut, while also showcasing growth into a bigger rock sound. Soaring vocal harmonies and danceable pop-rock hooks give way to tender melancholic lows, with lyricism that is unafraid of exploring pain, anxiety, and what it means to be in love.
