The AfterWords Literary Festival presents On Writing with Emma Donoghue on Monday, April 28th at 11:30 AM.  Tickets available on the AfterWords website HERE for $35 including lunch (vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options available).

Hear all about Emma Donoghue’s writing practice and process, while enjoying lunch at The Carleton, Halifax’s legendary and award-winning entertainment venue. This wide-ranging conversation, hosted by Stephanie Domet, will explore every aspect of the writer’s work. Though this conversation will be of particular interest to writers, readers are equally welcome and will find much to chew over. Yes, lunch pun intended. In fact, lunch is included in the ticket price, and will be served throughout the event.

Emma Donoghue is a novelist, screenwriter and playwright. Her novel Room has sold almost three million copies, won the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and was shortlisted for the Man Booker and Orange Prizes. Donoghue scripted the film adaptation, which was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The Wonder was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and Donoghue co-wrote the screen adaptation. The Pull of the Stars was nominated for the Trillium Book Award and Scotiabank Giller Prize. Donoghue’s fiction ranges from the contemporary to the historical and includes two books for young readers.

Stephanie Domet is the author of two novels, and is at work on a third. She lives in Halifax where she is a freelance writer and editor who teaches creative writing in her dining room to little kids, sews her own clothes, and absolutely wants to make you supper when you’re in town.
