[UPDATE 10-Jul-10] It was expected. It’s the right thing. But dang… still sad to announce that Steve Poltz has officially cancelled all 2020 Canadian dates. Ticket holders have been notified and given the option of a full refund or to gift the cost of their tickets to Steve.

Howdy Folks,
I’m writing to let you know that my fantastic team is working hard on rescheduling all of my March 31st through May 8th shows. I’m asking for your patience while we figure this all out. There are a lot of moving parts.
I can’t wait to play for you cats again. I miss you! I miss the human connection. Take care of one another. I’m washing my hands while I dictate this message into my handheld device. I’m even sanitizing this handheld device!
Lots of love, Steve Poltz

The Carleton remains optimistic but realistic, so we’ve been expecting this news as more and more musicians look to adapt their touring schedules in light of COVID-19 restrictions. Let’s hold on to the positive… Steve really wants to come “home” and grace our stage. We’re confident it will all come together!

What better way to kick off our 12th anniversary month than with our dear, dear (albeit completely whacked) friend, Steve Poltz! The universe’s bard will perform at The Carleton on Monday, May 4th at 7 PM. Tickets are $32.50. On sale THIS FRIDAY JAN 17 at 10 am AT. Get ’em while you can!
In 20 years since his full-length solo debut, One Left Shoe, Steve Poltz blessed the world’s ears with thirteen solo records, spanning the acclaimed 2010 Dreamhouse and most recently, Shine On in 2019. NPR summed it up best, “Critics and fans alike now regard Poltz as a talented and prolific songwriter.”
Evoking themes of “hope, love, contemplation, celebration of Wednesday, pharmacists, and the fact that windows are not inanimate objects and they sometimes have conversations with each other,” Shine On represents Steve at his most inspired and insightful. The opener and title track pairs a delicate vocal with lithely plucked acoustic strings as he urges everyone to, “Shine on, shine on.”
