Three great acts, one stage, one night: Tuesday, April 28th at 8 PM. Tickets are only $10.
We are really, really happy that this show came together and are pretty stoked for this rare triple bill featuring Winnipeg‘s Juno Award-nominated Don Amero, the amazing harmony work of Hamilton duo Ash & Bloom and the stellar writing and playing of our own Tom Curry.
Don Amero left his job as a hardwood flooring installer seven years ago to pursue music full-time. Since then, the Winnipeg singer/songwriter has toured coast‐to‐ coast, appeared on national television, played festivals, performed with the symphony, showcased in New York City, been nominated for Canada’s most prestigious music awards (including a Juno in 2013) and released four albums. He’s about to release his fifth – Refined – on May 5th.
Don’s musical style has been likened to John‐Mayer‐meets‐Keith‐Urban but I think you’ll find he sounds just like… Don Amero!
Ash & Bloom are triple threats – great songwriters, great players and extraordinary singers. Listening to them harmonize, it’s impossible not to think of Simon and Garfunkel and that’s about as big a complement as an act like this could want. We think you’ll be knocked out by them, we really do…
One of our favourite local songwriters, Tom Curry‘s day job is as a respected Music Therapist (which is a cause near and dear to us at The Carleton) and he also finds time to play with Scrapes, a full-on rock band you can occasionally see on our stage – like whenever we can get them. Tom’s excited to show off his new J45 Gibson and we’re excited to hear the songs he’s planning on playing on it!
