Man, it’s nice when we get offered a show by someone we’re not entirely familiar with but know everyone who regularly comes to The Carleton will absolutely LOVE. That’s the case with Alberta’s JJ Shiplett. He’ll make his Halifax debut – with a full band – on Tuesday, July 11th. Show time is 7:30 PM and tickets are only $15. Locals Helen & Lucy will be opening the show.

Unappologetically himself, the Alberta-born singer/songwriter and performer is bold in range and musical creativity with a passion, and reverence, for the art of music and its performance that has captured the attention of music fans across the country. A troubadour whole songs resonate with emotional sincerity and and an underdog’s enduring hope, he pens anthemic songs that make you believe in something in this hard world and others that convince you to soak it all in whiskey’n’wine and just go dancing.
