The Carleton is happy to present another in our series of Classic Album Nights with local Thomas McCallum and band taking on John Prine‘s timeless, Diamonds In The Rough album on Wednesday, October 5th. Show time is 8 PM and admission is only $10 at the door.
John Prine’s second album, “Diamonds in the Rough” is often eclipsed by the albums which surround it. However, this album is exactly what it labels itself, and shows Prine’s dedication to traditional American music. It is also the greatest testament of his friendship with Steve Goodman (writer of “City of New Orleans”), who plays on several tracks. Thomas McCallum and his Band will perform the entirety of “Diamonds in the Rough,” as close to the original as possible.
If you’re a John Prine fan – and who isn’t? – it’ll be worth taking a trip to Argyle Street to see this rarely performed show!
Thomas’s band consist of: Thomas McCallum – Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica; Mark Gallant on Banjo; Zach Crawford on Dobro and A.A. Shenkman on Bass
