Halifax big band Unidentified Funk Object is wrapping it up (at least for now) with one final show at The Carleton on Thursday, July 28th. Newcomers Talea get the evening off in fine style at 9 PM with UFO to follow after 10 PM. Big bands, big sounds, big fun. $7 at the door will get you inside.

From UFO… Unidentified Funk Object brings interplanetary grooves beamed from the funkiest depths of space to Ur dancefloor. Dr. G’s far-out theremin and the band’s stone-cold funk take Ur body and soul 2 another plane of existence. Ahh yeah.

Talea is a new Halifax based, up-and-coming, five piece band. They have a distinctive sounds that blends funk, R&B, Soul, Blues and Latin Jazz. They strive to create great music that is not only intriguing but also makes you want to get up and dance – a good thing!
