It’s been many, many moons since Justin Rutledge made the trek to the East Coast, so we are exceedingly happy to announce he’ll finally return to The Carleton for an early show on Saturday, June 7th, Show time is 7 PM and tickets (worth every penny) are $40 + HST.
Accolades have piled up at Justin Rutledge‘s feet since he released his first album, No Never Alone back in 2004 to rave reviews in such international publications as Uncut and NME. He won a Juno Award for Roots Album of the Year in 2014 for the album Valleyheart – which also landed him a Canadian Folk Music Award for Album of the Year– and has since been nominated for three more Junos. He’s been long-listed twice for the critic-voted Polaris Music Prize, and has penned songs with Booker Prize-winning author of The English Patient, Michael Ondaatje, and starred in the stage adaptation of the Ondaatje classic Divisadero. Gordon Lightfoot and Gord Downie were fans, as are constant collaborators Blue Rodeo and Nova Scotia’s own Jenn Grant.
