Club favourites Campbell & Johnston return to the intimate confines of The Carleton for a duo show on Saturday, April 5th. Show time will be 8 PM and tickets are $30 + HST.
Christine Campbell & Blake Johnston bring a captivating blend of vintage blues-rock, roots, and folk with a modern twist. Their performance showcases a seamless exchange of searing guitar solos, rich lead vocals, and juicy harmonies, creating an experience that resonates with both exhilarating energy and intimate connection.
In 2022, their debut album earned an ECMA for “Best Blues Album” and a Maple Blues nomination. ’23 brought Campbell the “Rooted to the Island Award” from Music PEI.
In the Spring of 2024, they released their latest album, Paisley Hearts, which has had extensive radio play across Canada, the U.K., and the U.S., charted at number 3 on Canadian roots radio and appeared on two Joe Bonamassa Playlists. The release led to another busy season, touring a vast array of festivals like Ottawa Blues Fest, Harvest, Stanfest, and opening for Tom Cochrane at the NS Stampede. They’ve shared the stage with many renowned artists such as Steve Earle, Burton Cummings, and Bob Seger and you may recognize their music from popular Canadian TV shows like “Hudson & Rex” and “Sullivan’s Crossing.”
Their album release party was kicked off at the Carleton with back-to-back sold out nights with the full band experience. Now they’re back as a duo to share their songs and stories in the intimate listening room setting the Carleton is so well known for.
