Paul St-Amand‘s The Joy Curve W/Special Guest Jah’Mila + Bethany bring the soul to The Carleton stage on Friday, August 25th. Show time is 8 PM and tickets are $20 + HST advanced, or $25 + HST at the door.
The Joy Curve is a soul band fronted by singer and trumpet slinger Paul St-Amand. His smooth voice and sizzling horn soar over taut grooves from a killer rhythm section featuring some of Halifax’s best musicians. Irresistible hooks and showstopping improvised jams are hallmarks of every TJC performance.
For this special engagement at The Carleton, TJC will be joined by the luminous Jah’Mila. Wrapped in the roots of the Reggae family tree, Jah’Mila makes music that is creatively crafted and deeply inspiring. She has toured with towering Reggae bands like The Wailers, Groundation, and Black Uhuru, and has been a featured vocalist with the National Arts Centre Orchestra and Symphony Nova Scotia.
Opening the show will be indie singer-songwriter Bethany. Whether she’s behind a keyboard or cradling a guitar, her colourful lyrics and melodies are sure to have a ripple effect in your ears and your spirit.
