Avery Dakin is an emerging singer-songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia who combines thoughtful and honest lyrics with dreamy, soulful vocals and accompaniment.
After obtaining a degree in Music composition from Acadia, Avery quickly felt drawn to songwriting, performing, and collaborating in Halifax. She cut her teeth singing and playing keyboard in Halifax’s first live karaoke band, and is now involved in many musical projects, including leading her own band.
Avery is currently teaching private music lessons and enjoying the release her debut EP, “Settle Down”, which you can find on all platforms. This July she and the band played a set as part of Halifax Jazz Fest’s 2021 Community Series. She also snagged third place in The Coast’s 2021 Best of Awards for “Best New Artist”!
With an open and earnest presence, an a healthy hint of sass. Avery and her collaborators create a groovy, bright, yet mellow sound that pair well with her reflective, smart, sometimes cheeky lyrics.
