On the back of his 2019 Debut Album Party Music, Colin Fowlie toured back and forth across Canada and the Northeastern United States. When everything ground to a halt in 2020, he put his head down and finished writing for his sophomore release, which he recently finished recording with Ariel Posen and a team of musical heavyweights from Canada and the US.
Kylie Fox is one of the most promising emerging Canadian lyricists, exemplified by her debut album release Green (2020), recorded by ECMA award-winning producer Dale Murray. Her insightful and quick-witted poetry paired with her alternative folk sound and raw, compelling vocal performances lends to why Kylie is one of the most creative and exciting storytellers to watch for. She has undertaken multiple Canadian tours, was chosen to participate in the Banff Centre for the Arts International Songwriting Residency, has appeared on festival stages such as Area506, Harvest Jazz and Blues and Shivering Songs and has been awarded the PrixNB Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award (2020). She is currently busy rehearsing a six piece band for upcoming live shows, and writing her next project.
Blaire Nicolle is a singer-songwriter from Fredericton NB, now living in Saint John. Blaire has been writing and playing songs throughout NB at venues and festivals for a few years now. Don’t let her small stature and quiet nature fool you, she is a force to be reckoned with. Blaire takes experiences and events and turns them into songs that will grab you. She is currently working on a new collaborative project to be launched soon.
Fresh off two Music Nova Scotia nominations for New Artist and Pop Record of the year, Awolk‘s folk-rock debut record has garnered more than 250,000 Spotify streams. Roots Music Canada said of the self titled album, “Awolk digs into the deepest parts of you, pops the bubble between artist and listener, and makes you bleed in the most beautiful way possible.”
He has been featured on CBC radio’s East Coast Music Hour, and indie stations across Canada. With at least 80 dates across Canada since the record dropped, including supporting Kellie Loder, The Hypochondriacs, and a 20 date national acoustic tour dubbed, “Awolk Across Canada”, a desire to play shows is definitely one of the driving forces behind this rising voice.
After an electric performance at 2019’s Nova Scotia Music Week, Tim Hardy of Halifax’s Sound Of Pop Publishing signed Awolk, joining him with a great team of wonderful east coast artists.
Awolk’s latest single is called “Love What’s Left,” and he is currently writing and recording his next record with Factor funding.
