(Halifax, NS) – As Nova Scotia restaurants re-open, Halifax’s multi award-winning live music and food venue The Carleton (1685 Argyle Street, downtown Halifax) is pleased to announce it will re-open its doors and summer patio on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, beginning this Thursday, June 25 at 4 p.m.
Following all public health guidelines and adhering to the recommended six-foot physical distancing, The Carleton will offer live music, full table service and a take-out menu option.
“It’s been too long, my friends! We so look forward to hosting you in our (physically distanced) dining room and patio starting June 25, and especially to share live music!” says owner, Karen Spaulding. “The tunes will be seated and acoustic for a while yet, but oh my…the joy of seeing and hearing our local artists in person again. Can’t wait!”
Opening weekend, The Carleton is delighted to present free evening performances by Michael Dalton (Thursday, 6 – 9 p.m.), Jordan LeBlanc (Friday, 6 – 9 p.m.) and the Tevon Tynes Trio (Saturday, 7 – 10 p.m.).
Gear up for the weekend with two very special online shows:
At 7 pm ADT Tuesday June 23, The Carleton will host a virtual album release concert with jazz vocalist and former member of Canadian a cappella group The Nylons, Micah Barnes. Barnes is celebrating the release of his new album, Vegas Breeze and will perform live from his home studio in Toronto on The Carleton’s Facebook page . He will perform new music, fan-favourites by The Nylon’s as well as songs from his chart-topping recording, New York Stories.
At 7 pm ADT Wednesday June 24, we welcome Tyler Messick (Museum Pieces) to Live at The Carleton. This will be the last show in this segment of mini-concerts and Q&A’s with local musicians via Facebook Live that allowed us to maintain our commitment to live music throughout the COVID-19 lockdown.
