Locals Pat Lepoidevin + Terra Spencer + Corey Isenor team up for what promises to be a great show at The Carleton on Friday, January 17th. Show time is 9 PM and admission is $10 at the door.
Pat LePoidevin is a songwriter and performer strongly influenced by community. With an extensive songwriting resume and five albums to his name, LePoidevin has built a sizable fan base on relentless touring and standout performances at some of Canada’s most prestigious music festivals, including Halifax Pop Explosion and Dawson City Music Festival.
Terra Spencer spent much of her youth in a basement in Summerville, Hants County playing piano and secretly strumming her granddad’s guitars. Bridging folk and Americana, Terra’s lyric-driven original songs and gentle, hand-stitched instrumentation with fingerstyle guitar and gospel piano draw from the intimate storytelling spirit of Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Nominated for 2019 Music Nova Scotia Americana Recording of the Year, Other People’s Lives is Terra’s debut album of original songs co-produced with longtime friend Jake Smith at Moe’s Place near her family’s home in Windsor, NS.
On ‘Absinthe & Smoke‘, Corey Isenor moves away from the country sound of his previous albums to focus on more of a roots– rock, folk-pop sound. Over the course of the ten tracks, the Nova Scotian songwriter vigilantly explores themes of youthful disenchantment, our existential place in the modern world, the passage of time, and – of course – romance.
