Alexander and The Great Ones wrap up their Ontario-to-the-Atlantic tour with a show at The Carleton on Thursday, July 18th. Joining them on the night are locals Pat LePoidevin and Jeff Gay. Live music gets underway at 9 PM and admission is only $7 at the door.
Alexander MacNeil is a guitarist, songwriter, singer, arranger and noted roving stray from Nova Scotia’s industrial northern mainland. Armed with his electiveness, hushed confessional tones, swathes of lush orchestration and guitar riffs that crackle to the delight of audiences, Alexander is a pop music weapon.

With the Great Ones Alex explores the sounds of the last century not as they were, but as they are: heart still pumping, freckled with rust.
Pat LePoidevin is a songwriter and performer strongly influenced by community. With an extensive songwriting resume and five albums to his name, LePoidevin has built a sizable fan base on relentless touring and standout performances at some of Canada’s most prestigious music festivals, including Halifax Pop Explosion and Dawson City Music Festival.
Jeff Gay hails from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. He sounds like the obscure singer-songwriter types that he listens to, stuck in his chill, late 60s/early 70s vibe.
A familiar face on the Halifax music scene, in addition to his storied performances with The Legendary Golden River Show Band (see www.hungryrecords.ca), Jeff has also played with Christina Martin, Laura Merrimen, Quiet Parade and many others.
Jeff’s 2017 solo release, Cuban Rum (also on Hungry Records), was a well-received slab of rustic acoustic rock. A followup is imminent.
