The Tom Rich Band, Matthew Pickup and Roadside Scarecrow team up for a triple bill at The Carleton on Friday, March 29th. Show time is 10 PM and admission is $10 at the door.
Tom Rich is a Canadian multi-instrumentalist & songwriter from Lower Sackville; with a strong & clear voice, he wields his bass guitar with fierce precision. The band consists of Jason Keddy on keys, Adrian Dunn on guitar, and currently Dale Wilson on drums. Together, their rhythm is a rock that’s heavy on the roll, reminiscent of the early days of pop music paired with Tom’s 80s & 90s inspired voice that has been compared to Grapes Of Wrath & R.E.M.
Matthew Pickup is an alternative and folk act, based on Canada’s East Coast. Music not being limited to one genre, rather draws on influence ranging from Fleet Foxes, Jeff Buckley, Father John Misty or Ben Harper.
The skilled musicians featured in this band come from varied backgrounds, the one common thread being the aim to create fresh and attractive sounds, based around inspired songwriting.
Roadside Scarecrow is a Halifax band playin’ old, gritty, dark country-meets-catchy-up-beat rock!
