What better way to celebrate Earth Day than an uplifting musical experience? Songwriters Erika Kulnys, Kim Dunn and Callum Isaac Moscovitch get together for an 8 PM show at The Carleton on Wednesday, April 22nd. Tickets are only $12 at the door.

Erika Kulnys is a classically trained singer-songwriter, poet, composer and performance artist who challenges boundaries and touches hearts. Her background in Nova Scotian folk, classical, world music, poetry and her concern for social issues create an original idiom that yields carefully crafted songs robust with passion. Erika’s musical scope ranges from folky love songs to rock-pop and she has the gift of writing meaningful songs that remain intimate while being political. In the story-telling folk tradition, Erika writes about real human experiences and the joyful conviction in her voice opens wide her listeners’ hearts.

Kim Dunn has been working on a successful music career for 30 years with a brief four year sojourn studying Jazz at St. FX University.

In addition to his producing, musical directing and arranging credits, he has worked with the who’s who of East coast artists including, Rita MacNeil, Bruce Guthro, Matt Minglewood, Jimmy Rankin, Lennie Gallant, David Myles, Jill Barber, Dave Gunning, George Canyon, and continues to do so.

After playing on countless CDs by other artists, Kim has brought his songwriting and singing to the forefront with his first solo project, Take This Hammer. His biggest asset has always been versatility and he has implemented this skill prominently on this self-produced debut album, blending elements of Jazz, Blues, Pop and Folk.

Callum Isaac is a singer/songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

He writes stories about spirit animals, the forest, and the moon. Weaving together soft melodies and gentle finger-picking with powerful downbeat stomping rhythms and trumpeting vocals, his music is dynamic, breathable, and rhythmic.
