Strongly rooted in jazz fusion, art-rock and world music, Halifax-based musician Brett Waye attempts to expand a pop songwriting format by fearlessly embracing experimentation. Citing acts such as Peter Gabriel and Steely Dan, Waye’s style pays homage to a wide variety of influences while still retaining a personality that is uniquely his own.
